Junior Classes

Let us introduce your child to the game of tennis which will allow them to develop important skills like coordination and agility, learning the fundamental skills to become a great tennis player! Different types of balls are used depending on the child’s level.

Red Balls

Ages 4-8

These balls are used for young children who are just starting to learn tennis. These balls are lighter, larger, and travel slower through the air which makes it easier to control the ball. Children will be taught to develop their footwork, and hand-eye coordination.

Orange Balls

Ages 8-10

These balls are for children who are still developing their skills. They are smaller than traditional yellow tennis balls, but they travel faster than the red balls, but slower than the green. They also bounce higher. These balls allow children to improve their skills before moving onto a heavier ball. Orange balls are played on a 60' x 21’ for singles and 60’ x 27’ for doubles.

Green Balls

Ages 9-12

These balls are for children who have developed their skills, but still require a lighter ball that bounces a little lower than traditional yellow tennis balls. These balls are a good way to allow the player to build on their confidence and develop their control and consistency.
